Founded in 2013 in Romans-sur-Isère, 1083 is a committed fashion brand that embodies the revival of Made-in-France jeans. Its name refers to the 1,083 kilometers separating the two most distant cities in mainland France (Menton and Porspoder), symbolizing the company’s commitment to manufacturing products locally within French territory.
The story began with the production of premium jeans and the relocation of textile manufacturing back to France, from fabric weaving to garment assembly. According to a study conducted by the French Fashion Institute (Institut Français de la Mode) on behalf of DEFI, products made in France account for only 3.3% of the French fashion market by volume.
For more than a decade, 1083 has been committed to defending French expertise by investing in the relocation of textile production to France. The challenge
1083 initially built its business around a Direct-to-Consumer (DtoC) distribution strategy, primarily through its B2C website. Thanks to the quality of its products and its strong brand values, the company quickly achieved significant success.

Today, 1083 is distributed through 130 retail partners across France.
